Israel / Palestinian Territories 2007-2008

In February 2008, eleven Brandeis students traveled across Israel and the West Bank to personally explore the nature of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The delegation visited a number of areas including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Neve Shalom, Hebron, Ramallah, Dheisheh Refugee Camp and Bethlehem. The trip was funded by former President Jimmy Carter and the Maurice J. and Fay B. Karpf Peace Awards.

My Trip to Ramallah

This journal entry was originally posted on June 26, 2009.

Two days ago, I made my first trip across the checkpoints to visit some friends in Ramallah. I can’t say that I knew what to expect, although my experience was much more seamless than I anticipated. I boarded a bus at Damascus Gate in East Jerusalem which, for 6.50 NIS (about $1.60), carried me all the way to Ramallah.
