* Working with the Promotora de Salud Comunitaria program in coordinating health fairs in marginalized communities to provide preventive health care, contraception and vaccinations;
* Work with the Micro-finance program whose goal is to provide economic and social development as a strategy for fighting poverty and empowering women. You may assist program coordinators in setting up informational workshops, monthly classes and follow-up with community bank members;
* Work with the FEMAP Foundation in fund development, fundraising and communications (which includes grant writing and research, writing/contributing to the e-newsletter and planning the annual fundraiser); and- Personal Biography
Sarah Van Buren is from Falls Church, VA. She is a freshman working on her majors in Biochemsitry and International & Global Studies. She currently works with Hogar Hispano, teaching English classes for immigrants. She also was a coordinator and counselor of Camp El Sol, a non-profit day camp during the summer by the Girls Scouts for young girls in the Washington D.C. Metro Area. Sarah is exited to address directly the challenges of healthcare reform and educational development on the US/Mexico border.
